PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program has been conducted at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, CA since 2002 and at Clovis Community Medical Center in Clovis, CA since 2016.
Our growth into a multiple-site program provides a foundation for competency-based education, a wide range practice experiences in diverse practice settings, and increases opportunities for residents to obtain experience in areas of interest.
All 5 residents in the Community Medical Centers Multiple-Site PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program are part of a single program and are able to rotate throughout the health system.
Residents are matched to a home-base site: 3 residents at Community Regional Medical Center and 2 residents at Clovis Community Medical Center.
Community Regional Medical Center
(NMS/ASHP Match Number 123313 for three PGY1 resident positions)
Clovis Community Medical Center
(NMS/ASHP Match Number 123321 for two PGY1 resident positions)
At a minimum, each resident will spend two thirds or more of their time involved in direct patient care activities. Learning experiences are sequenced such that areas of possible PGY2 specialization occur prior to the ASHP Mid-year Clinical Meeting based on resident interest.
Required learning experiences are scheduled at home-base sites, except orientation and pharmacy operations may be between sites. All other learning experiences are available to all residents at both sites. Learning experience duration is 4-6 weeks or longitudinal.
