Why I chose Community Regional Medical Center: Growing up in the Central Valley, I have always felt a strong connection to the community that raised me. Seeing the challenges that many individuals and families face in accessing healthcare inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. 

From the beginning of my residency search, I knew I wanted to train at an institution that not only provided exceptional clinical experiences but also shared my commitment to serving diverse and underserved patient populations. Community Regional Medical Center stood out because it offered both. During my interview, I was struck by the welcoming atmosphere, the genuine passion of the preceptors, and the emphasis placed on mentorship, collaboration, and resident well-being. I could truly see myself growing here. 

I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my training in the community that has given me so much, while developing into a compassionate and well-rounded clinical pharmacist. My hope is to make a positive impact on my patients and help improve the health of the community I am proud to call home.

Why I chose Community Regional Medical Center: I chose to complete my PGY1 pharmacy residency at Community Regional Medical Center because I wanted to train in a challenging, high-acuity academic environment while serving the community that I call home. 

As the region’s Level I Trauma Center, Community Regional offers exposure to a diverse and medically complex patient population that will help me strengthen my clinical decision-making and prepare me to become a well-rounded clinical pharmacist. As someone who was born (in this exact hospital) and raised in the Central Valley, it is important to me to give back to the patients and families in this region. 

I am passionate about serving the underserved population of the Central Valley, and I believe Community Regional provides the ideal environment to develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to make a meaningful impact on the patients and communities I hope to serve throughout my career.

Why I chose Community Regional Medical Center: 

I had initially considered Community Regional Medical Center as a PGY-1 program due to the role it has in my personal life. Many of my family and friends go to Community Regional for medical care, and I wanted to complete my residency training here given how central it is to the southwest Fresno area where I was raised. 

As a residency program, Community Regional also offers rotations in a wide variety of specialties. Having opportunities to explore the various specialties across both Community Regional and Clovis Community Medical Center, all in one program, was perfect for me as I continue to figure out my future career goals beyond just residency. 

Another major reason I chose Community Regional was due to the RPD and preceptors; they are all supportive of the residents and take great pride in mentoring residents within the program. I look forward to seeing my seeing my growth as a pharmacist as I complete my clinical rotations at Community Regional!
