The birth of your baby is a precious event, and our goal is to ensure it’s everything you hope for by giving you and your baby the highest level of care available.

Community Regional is one of the largest birthing centers in California and one of only six in the state recognized by The Joint Commission as a Center of Excellence.

What sets Community Regional apart

We’re known throughout the region for providing dedicated, specialty care services, including high-risk pregnancy care, the region’s only Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), comprehensive in-patient postpartum care, and our unique-to-the-Valley Mother’s Resource Center.

Our perinatal fetal care program coordinates care for women and their families whose babies have a congenital defect or chromosomal abnormalities. Certified genetic counselors, doctors and nurses will provide support prenatally, during your admission and following delivery. Our perinatal RN navigator is available to guide you through a high-risk complicated pregnancy, surrogate delivery or special circumstances such as fetal genetic abnormalities and bereavement care.

Community Medical Centers is committed to providing care that is evidence-based, current, specialized and family-centered while maximizing your birth experience. Our multidisciplinary team of highly trained practitioners offers comprehensive and coordinated services to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both mother and baby.

High-risk pregnancy care

Unique to Community Regional, our antepartum, high-risk unit is designed for complicated situations when the health of the mother or baby requires them to be hospitalized before labor starts.

If you’re admitted to this unit, we’ll be trying to delay premature birth. Your health and your baby’s will be continuously monitored until it’s safe to return home – or until you go into labor. Because of our expertise with high-risk, pregnancy care, mothers from all over the region come to Community Regional.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Our rating as a Level 3 NICU means we're licensed by the state to care for some of the sickest infants and offer around-the-clock care. We have the largest Level 3 NICU in the Valley and provide care for infants with complex critical care needs, including premature infants and babies with a variety of diagnoses.

Our environment is calm and welcoming, and we encourage family involvement in important care decisions.

Sang Family Postpartum & Newborn Care

Our Sang Family Postpartum & Newborn Care unit has a dedicated team providing 24-hour care to you and your baby as you recover from the birthing process. You are the most important member of our care team!

Featuring 15 private rooms and 34 beds in semi-private rooms, we make every effort to keep you and your baby together throughout your stay rather than sending baby to the nursery.

For cesarean births, we have three separate delivery and recovery rooms available. All equipment needed to safeguard both mother and baby is always close at hand.

After delivery, you will be under the care of your OB-GYN and/or OB-GYN residents. Your pediatrician will be responsible for your baby’s care, and your OB/GYN will visit you each day to monitor your condition. During these visits, be sure to ask them any questions you may have regarding your recovery, medications, concerns, etc.

Your baby’s pediatrician also will visit you and your baby each day. The pediatrician will check on the baby’s condition and well-being. Once again, if you have any questions about your newborn, please do not hesitate to ask.
