Community Health System President & CEO Craig Wagoner joined Adam Goodman, host of the podcast 13th and Park in Washington D.C., to discuss challenges facing the healthcare industry here in the Central Valley.

Focusing on public affairs and culture, 13th and Park provides insight into a variety of important topics by featuring thought leaders in the world of politics, media, healthcare and more.

Wagoner spoke about Community’s role as a “safety net” provider — accepting any patient regardless of ability to pay — and explained how Medicaid and Medicare shortfalls, among other issues, has kept the hospital system struggling financially.

He also spoke to a brighter future, and how Community's value-based care programs can act as a model for health systems nationwide.
