Clovis Community Medical Center and Community Regional Medical Center have both received the 2026 Get With The Guidelines ®- Stroke award by the American Heart Association.
This is especially exciting, as Clovis Community has advanced from the Silver Plus to the Gold Plus award this year, marking another milestone on Community’s path to becoming a 5-star system.
Community Regional has achieved this gold quality standard every year since 2018, but this year the hospital advanced to Honor Roll Elite Advanced Therapy.
“This accomplishment is a true testament to the high-quality, evidence-based stroke care delivered through the collaborative efforts of our multidisciplinary teams,” said Kudzi Muchaka, Vice President of Neurosciences, Community Health System.

Heart disease and stroke are among the top five leading causes of death in the United States. Studies show patients can recover better when providers consistently follow treatment guidelines.
Get With The Guidelines puts the expertise of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to work for hospitals nationwide, helping ensure patient care is aligned with the latest evidence- and research-based guidelines.
As a participant in Get With The Guidelines programs, Community qualified for the awards by demonstrating our team’s commitment to improving quality care.
Neurosciences Institute brings stroke care and more to downtown Fresno
With the recent opening of the Bob Smittcamp Family Neurosciences Institute, our neuroscience teams are projected to make an even greater impact on those we serve.
From research and clinic visits to patient navigation and support groups, the 60,000-square-foot space is designed to care for patients at every step of their journey.
And, by bringing specialized services to the heart of downtown, we’re providing advanced neurological care to our community — so patients don’t have to leave the Central Valley to find the help they need.
