Community Regional Medical Center’s continued dedication to improving the lives of those we serve has been recognized for two years in a row with “A” grades for:
-
2022 Lown Institute Hospitals Index in Social Responsibility, Health Equity and Inclusivity
-
2021 Lown Institute Hospitals Index in Community Benefit, Health Equity and Inclusivity
The Lown Institute differs from other national ranking organizations by examining and evaluating hospitals based on their social responsibility and commitment to improving what really matters within their community: setting a higher standard for health outcomes, value and equity. Community Regional’s rankings highlight our ongoing commitment to community benefit, equity, inclusion and community health in the Central Valley.
As our flagship hospital, Community Regional in downtown Fresno plays a vital role in our health system’s efforts to provide outreach services and education to Valley residents that improve health and wellbeing.
We are proud to be historical leaders among Central Valley hospitals in our community benefit investments — in some years spending nearly double the combined total of other area hospitals.
As a not-for-profit hospital system, we must reinvest a significant portion of resources back into the region we serve, providing direct health education, helping with disease and injury prevention efforts and partnering with others to solve social issues that lead to poor health.
In fiscal year 2021, which the Lown Institute used to evaluate and recognize Community Regional, Community Health System invested $231 million in community benefit efforts. In fiscal year 2022, we increased our contributions with $269 million toward community benefit outreach, training and education.
At Community, we are proud of our long-term partnerships, investments and dedication to our mission of bettering the lives of all those we serve. To learn more about our community benefit investments, visit our website or see our latest report and plan.
