It’s never easy to hear that someone has cancer, let alone brain cancer – one of the most lethal.
Recently in the news, we heard that Sen. John McCain was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer. This week he began his treatment of targeted radiation and chemotherapy.
When a patient is diagnosed with a glioblastoma, the typical course of action is surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. But, did you also know that there is another non-invasive option that can be used for treatment? It applies cancer-fighting technology directly to the brain. It’s called Optune and is available right here in Fresno at Community.
Check out this video and see how it is works to slow tumor growth and increase survival rates by more than double! Also, see Dr. William Silveira, Radiation Oncologist – a native of the Central Valley.
Experts, technology, clinical trials and our partnership with UCSF will provide cancer patients with the latest life-saving treatments to BEAT cancer at Community’s new Cancer Center opening in August 2018.
That’s only one year away! See below to find out how you can help.
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
