The medical field is constantly changing and so is the need for medical education. Community Medical Centers’ partners at Wells Fargo Bank met this need by again showing their support with a $100,000 commitment toward employees' education at Community.
Sandy Raco, Wells Fargo Central Valley market president says, “We both share the same vision and value in investing, supporting and understanding the value of your employees as a competitive advantage.”
In 2012, Wells Fargo made a significant gift that established the Wells Fargo Employee Education Advancement Fund to support the more than 6,800 employees at Community. This scholarship fund invests in Health Stream’s Continuing Education Center to provide 400 different engaging and interactive courses. This helps clinical staff maintain their professional certifications and licenses. With Wells Fargo’s help, employees now have greater access to education and training ensuring for a stronger, more skilled workforce who are dedicated to delivering the finest care in the region.
“We are so lucky to have a partner like Wells Fargo that understands that investing in an employees’ growth and development is key to both their personal and professional success,” says Peg Breen, senior vice president of human resources.
Through the years Wells Fargo’s support has been crucial in several key initiatives –Terry’s House at Community Regional Medical Center, the Dan Brown Legacy Fund which supports neuroscience programs at Community Regional, Clovis Community Medical Center Expansion, and continuing medical education for the entire healthcare system.
“We [Wells Fargo] are proud to be able to partner with Community Medical Centers. It has been well over a decade and we continue to collaborate in making a difference in the communities that we serve,” Raco says.
Community’s comprehensive hospital network is the region’s largest private employer with the largest physician panel of private and academic physicians. Community also partners with one of the nation’s top medical schools – UC San Francisco.
Gifts like these help Community achieve its mission to promote medical education and improve the health status of the community. With Wells Fargo’s support, more caregivers will have the opportunity for professional growth and personal advancement, translating to patients continuing to receive the very best care possible.
Raco has seen this ripple effect in her own life, “I have personally experienced many tragedies within recent years and each time, the hospital staff and physicians have always gone out of their way to pay special attention to not only the patients but also their families.”
