Tina started in 1998 as a staff nurse and has worked her way up to VP of capacity management at Community Regional, with positions along the way as director of nursing administration the house supervisor. Tina is involved in several projects within the hospital and tirelessly works to ensure the organization is on track with patient safety.
Tina was placed in charge of our fledgling Command Center which worked to shorten the time it took to place patients coming from the Emergency Department, Surgical Services, or outside facilities into appropriate hospital beds. As the hospital gets busier and busier, that has been increasingly challenging. In 2016, her team placed approximately 27,000 patients in hospital beds from the Emergency Department alone. The Command Center is now an innovative full-service patient management service that uses new techniques to keep beds as full as possible and to manage the large number of transfer requests from outlying facilities.
Tina is the staunchest supporter of staff and patients at Community Regional Medical Center. She maintains an “always open” attitude when it comes to receiving calls and answering questions regarding any issue that could negatively impact staff or patients.
Within the facility she is known to visit a grieving staff member after the loss of a loved one and even assist in planning a memorial for a staff member that has passed away. Tina is visible, always personable, and sets an example for every professional in the organization. She represents nursing leadership in a real, tangible, and hands-on manner.
I am so pleased to recognize her accomplishments and this honor she earned during our 2017 Nurses Week. I am also impressed with all of our Community nurses nominated this year for awards, including:
- Community Regional Clinical Supervisor Seth Durant, RN, CCRN – Excellence in Leadership
- Community Regional Director of Clinical Excellence & Staff Development Jennifer Bodine, DNP, RN, RN-BC, CEN – Excellence in Education
I'm proud to be part of such an amazing nursing staff!
