Oncology Rehab Helps Patients Restore Normal Life

Today there are more than 14 million cancer survivors in the United States. While the rate continues to climb with early detection and improved treatment, many cancer survivors have to deal with the adverse effects from the disease or treatment.

Community Medical Centers oncology rehab services help patients build strength, regain independence and restore a normal active life.

Our speech language pathologists, physical therapists and nutrition services collaborate to treat difficulties such as:
  • Balance retraining
  • Cognitive communication rehabilitation
  • Dysgeusia
  • Lymphedema
  • Restoration of oral nutrition
  • Seroma prevention
  • Strength training
  • Trismus
  • Vocal restoration
  • Xerostomia
Unique to Community Medical Centers, we also offer a head and neck exercise rehabilitation program titled Swallowing Preservation and Rehabilitation Exercises (SPARE) and an intensive swallowing rehabilitation program called Swallow Boot Camp.
