With its grant of $75,000 to Community Medical Centers, Wells Fargo Central Valley has become the first major donor to the regional cancer treatment and research center to be built on the Clovis Community campus.
 
Design work for the $65 million center began in May. Pending final construction approval by Community’s Board of Trustees, the center could open its doors in 2018. It would be the only comprehensive cancer center of its kind in the San Joaquin Valley. Community hopes to raise about one-third of the construction cost through fundraising.
 
Sandy Raco, Wells Fargo Central Valley Market President, said she hopes the gift will encourage other donors to step forward so that those touched by cancer will have all the services they need in one place, right here at home, as soon as possible.

The center will serve patients throughout the Valley, combining services and expertise currently provided in multiple locations, including Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno, the California Cancer Center in north Fresno, and Clovis Community Medical Center.
