A World of “-tions”

Community Medical Centers is a wonderful organization that provides healthcare to many in the immediate and peripheral regions. The system provides the most rudimentary care to the most sophisticated. It takes lots of talented and highly educated, trained, credentialed, and skilled providers to make it all happen. It also takes all the support staff to stand alongside the clinicians; it’s not just about what happens at the bedside, but just as importantly, what happens around and away from the immediate bedside-environmental services, plant ops, materials management, food and nutrition, sterile processing, education, case management, business office, leadership, regulatory, legal, quality, compliance, security, information technology, health information systems, materials management, admissions, ambulatory services, medical staff office services, government relations, biomedical, philanthropy, public relations, human resources, medical staff, volunteers, chaplains, board leadership, health foundation, health plan, and undoubtedly the list goes on…wow!

In this complicated and exciting healthcare world we live in…there needs to be a lot of “-tions”…cooperation, integration, standardization, motivation, collaboration, and innovation…wow!

I hope that as we navigate all the impending changes and challenges, that we can embrace one another’s contributions (another “-tion”!) and are willing to continually be open to modifying our approaches to health delivery as the patients and payors will demand it. It’s a little scary but also invigorating…like a roller coaster ride!!!

Buckle up…we’re going for a spin!
