Terry's House is Community Regional's hospitality home for the families of our sick and critically injured patients. It's so neat to see how our employees show their love and support for Terry's House - from serving, making donations, and even sharing sentiments of the heart, like Rita.
For fun, I looked back at archived photos and found the gingerbread house Rita entered back in the 2010 holiday contest (below) – it was also the first and last year I personally entered the contest. That was a lot of work! Rita more than tripled the size of her 2010 creation! And look how far she's come! How did she do it?
While there hasn’t been a contest for the last several years, Rita said she enjoys crafting the houses and bringing them to her department for all to enjoy. “My cousin Murriel Green and I look forward to making them every year, said Rita. We started on the house the day after Thanksgiving and it took us 11 days to complete – with three days off for football.” Rita chose to create Terry’s House because she wanted to make something everyone would recognize and appreciate.
Terry’s House is a special place so I am sure many will share Rita’s sentiment. Please give Rita a shout out for sharing her talents in a big heartfelt way honoring Terry’s House.
