What to Expect on Your First Visit

Your first visit may take a bit longer due to the initial assessment and planning of your care — usually about 1-2 hours.

Here's what you can expect to happen on that visit:

Team Evaluation
Our team will evaluate your wounds by reviewing your medical history and general health, and analyzing any test results. Wounds will be assessed by a certified wound nurse, including photography and measurement. The provider will complete a general physical exam as well as an intensive focused exam of all wounds and any contributing factors.

Personalized Healing & Treatment Program
An individualized treatment plan will be created in collaboration with you, your family, the provider and certified wound nurse. The treatment plan will involve regular visits to the wound center to provide treatment, monitor progress and make adjustments to the  plan as needed.

Care may be coordinated with other specialists outside of the wound center to facilitate diagnosis and treatment of underlying conditions that may be contributing to non-healing wounds.
