Educating the public

An important part of being a trauma center is educating the public on preventing injuries. We do this through outreach programs including:

Trauma Survivors Network

We are also a member of the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN). TSN, a program of the American Trauma Society, is a community of patients and families looking to connect with one another and rebuild their lives after a life-altering injury. Joining this community can help ease the anxiety and frustration often experienced following a sudden injury and the resulting hospitalization.

Educating healthcare professionals

The trauma center team also educates healthcare professionals throughout the Central Valley in caring for trauma patients. This includes education for nurses and physicians, and overall education for rural healthcare facilities that might be the first to receive and stabilize injured patients.

Research

Community Regional has a robust trauma research program with many different areas of study. This research is published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at national and international conferences to share results with other trauma practitioners and advance the knowledge of caring for trauma patients.
