To continue to keep us all as healthy as possible as our community continues to deal with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we’ve moved some of our support groups to Zoom. Patient-Focused Support Groups
From our surgeon-led seminars to our bariatric support groups, our team will give you all of the tools you need to be successful after surgery. The process of adjusting to life after surgery will take some time and effort, but we’ll do all we can to help you stay on course.
We offer a variety of support groups, each with a different patient focus. Each group offers monthly topics to help expand your knowledge of what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle. Each is offered at different times throughout the week to help better fit into your schedule. A professional facilitates each group and will have a presentation prepared on a variety of subjects from exercise, food and nutrition, stress, behavior change and much more.
General Support Group
Our General Support Group meets the 1st Tuesday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We encourage attendees to come at 6 p.m. to meet and socialize with other group members.
Topics vary from general health information, live cooking demonstrations, exercise tips and more. We also have a "Food of the Month" and recipe available for you to try and take home!
Beginning Yoga Class
Our Beginning Yoga Class meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mental wellness is an important part of your journey and we're offering a FREE one-hour chair yoga class to help you relax, strengthen and restore your mental and physical well-being.
This is a chair yoga class intended for beginners. All poses will be shown and done from a seated position in a chair. Instructors may vary.
Back on Track Group
Our Back on Track Group meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Broken into two segments - teaching and sharing - the Back on Track Group provides attendees a place to gain emotional and mental support throughout any step of their journey.
A licensed therapist will be present to facilitate this group.
Exercise and Nutrition Group
Our Exercise and Nutrition Group meets the 2nd Monday of each month, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. An exercise physiologist will be present to demonstrate proper technique; exercise bands will be available. Registered dietitians will also be present to answer questions regarding nutrition and hydration.
Wear comfortable, loose clothing and flat shoes.
