Reconstructive surgery is performed to treat body parts affected cosmetically or functionally by disease, trauma or a congenital condition (something you were born with). These are life-changing events, but our team can help you regain your life again. See our list of procedures to complete your recovery journey today.

Types of reconstructive surgery we offer:

  • Scar revision (e.g. keloids — or raised scars — and hypertrophic scars, which are abnormally thick)
  • Breast reconstruction (implant-based and autologous, or “flap”)
  • Breast implant removal for reasons such as implant illness
  • Gender affirmation surgery (transfeminine and transmasculine “top” surgery)
  • Hand surgery (e.g. carpal tunnel, trigger fingers — when the finger gets stuck in a bent position — or cubital tunnel, which is pain and numbness in the hand due to compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow)
  • Post-burn reconstruction for contractures (stiffening or tightening of muscles and joints)
  • Septoplasty for deviated septum
  • Panniculectomy for excess lower abdominal skin and fat
  • Peripheral nerve surgery (neuropathic pain/phantom limb pain)

Community Regional Medical Center is the only Level I (highest level) trauma center between Sacramento and Los Angeles. Our plastic surgeons are an important part of the treatment teams that provide care to trauma patients throughout the Central Valley.
