The Story of Terry's House
Terry's House is a special place where families can rest their heads, warm their meals and find comfort in the support of other families who also are in similar circumstances.
This home-away-from-home was named in honor of Terry Richards. When Terry was 5 years old he was seriously injured in a car accident. For nearly five months his mother traveled almost 80 miles a day to be by her son's side while he recovered at the hospital.
A gift from Terry’s brother Tom Richards and many other generous donors in our community made the vision for Terry's House a reality in 2011. Today, the sustainability of Terry’s House is entirely dependent on private gifts and contributions. Our hope is the home will ease the stress of families during some of their most challenging times.
Since it opened in 2011, Terry’s House has been a home away from home for more than 3,600 families from 22 countries, 42 U.S. states and 3 U.S.. territories.
