  • Fresno Police Officers reunite with baby boy they helped deliver

Officers Erik Sanders and Jeremy Demoss were nearing the end of their shift early Sunday morning when a frantic dad with his wife in labor pulled up near their patrol car and yelled for help.

While the veteran officers’ extensive training doesn’t include baby delivery protocols, both are dads and instinctively helped seven-pound baby Marvis-Kyrie make an unusual entrance.

When Ferdinand Delmundo and his wife Marilou Sison knew they wouldn’t have enough time to make it to the hospital, they were grateful Officers Sanders and Demoss were close by.

Mom and baby were taken to Community Regional Medical Center by ambulance and are doing fine.

"They were amazing and we’re so thankful," Delmundo said. “Now they are members of our family.”  The couple asked the officers to be Kyrie’s godparents.

Delmundo and Sison are Cleveland Cavaliers fans.  The couple’s four-year-old son James is named after LaBron James and Kyrie is named after Kyrie Irving.

"We were in the right place at the right time," Demoss said. "I’m glad we were able to help them out and share in the enjoyment. It was truly an amazing experience."
