Help Patients Like Raven Get a Second Chance
Being badly burned is forever life-changing. And sadly, most of those who suffer burn injures in the Central Valley are children or young adults. In fact, in 2013, almost 60 percent of burn outpatients at Community Regional Medical Center were under the age of 25. Take 11-year-old Raven for example. Community Regional helped get him back to being a kid after he suffered serious burns when his family’s fire pit caught his clothes on fire.
Support the Leon S. Peters Burn Center
In March 2015, Fresno City Fire Capt. Pete Dern suffered severe burns to over 70 percent of his body when he fell through a fiery inferno on the roof of a house. Rescued by his colleagues within minutes, Pete was rushed to central California’s only comprehensive burn center — just minutes away.
The 10-bed center is nearly always full and relies heavily on generous donations to bring patients the latest in treatments and procedures that ensure the best possible outcome.
With your help, we can bring hope to these survivors — like Pete — who bravely endure while healing through these life-changing times. Make a gift today.
