Lucy’s job doesn’t pay money – instead she gets lots of hugs and pets.  That’s because Lucy’s a dog, and a very special one at that.  Pet therapy dog Lucy and her owner Sue Bissell spend Tuesdays in the halls of Community Regional Medical Center where both visit patients who want a little pet therapy during their stay.  Sue says some of her regular visits include patients who have been in the hospital for up to a year. Others have just arrived and the sight of Lucy puts a little happiness into a day spent lying abed. Young and old alike stop Lucy in the hallways for a “pat” here or there and a smile as she trots away to brighten someone else’s day.
