With an increase in premature births, here in the Valley, the need to provide local premature babies with the best in intensive care services continues to grow. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno is meeting the growing needs of the Valley by offering a new 65-bed facility with the latest state-of-the-art technology.  Along with the state-of-the-art beds, the unit has its own pharmacist and a breast milk pumping station – all designed with baby care and mom’s comfort in mind.

Despite all the steps you can take, however, towards ensuring a healthy pregnancy, problems can arise, and it’s important to know the warning signs that might indicate something is wrong. If you experience symptoms such as diabetes, hypertension, elevated blood pressure, pre-term labor, and early rupture of membranes signal signs to contact a doctor immediately.

Taking care of your body and following your doctor’s orders is key to a healthy pregnancy. Eating the right foods, maintaining a consistent exercise routine can also benefit both you and your baby, as well as taking pre-natal vitamins. It is also important to keep the lines of communication open with your doctor, and see them on a routine basis.
