A mammogram is a black and white image of your breast that's used to screen for cancerous or pre-cancerous tumors. Regularly scheduled mammograms, along with monthly self breast exams, are one of the best ways to detect the signs of early breast cancer. Breast cancer treated in its early stages means a better chance of recovery.
We use digital mammography – one of the latest technologies in breast imaging. The technology used in digital mammography allows an electronic image of your breast to be viewed on a high resolution computer screen where it can be adjusted to detect subtle differences in breast tissue. The images are then stored electronically.
If you would like more information about screening or diagnostic mammograms, or would like to make an appointment, please call the Digital Mammography Center at Community Regional Medical Center at (559) 459-3984.
