Changing eating habits to focus on healthy eating will assist in weight loss. This begins with eliminating high calorie foods from your current diet. Healthy eating means pre-planning meals and snacks. Try to avoid letting unhealthy foods find their way into the house, go grocery shopping on a full stomach, and replace temptation foods with healthy fruits and vegetables. Set a goal to increase physical activity and limit calories to improve your health.

Lifestyle change is challenging, but we’re making it easier with help from the Clovis Community Medical Center Weight-Loss Surgery Support Group. This is not just any support group. This is a lifestyle change group. Your life that was put on hold because of obesity is now back in high gear. This Weight-Loss Surgery Support Group is full of education that will not only peak your interest, it will give you practical tools to use in everyday life to increase your health, decrease unwanted weight, and get you excited about life again.

Support Groups:

Please join us...and bring a friend or family member! There is no cost to attend weight loss support group meetings which are held at Clovis Community Medical Center. Each support group meeting features a speaker on a subject of interest to people who are anticipating or who have had weight-loss surgery. Topics might include:

  • Nutritional education by our expert nutrition team to show you how to combine healthy, low calorie, delectable foods in the right sized portions for you and/or your family

  • Lifestyle activities and exercise coaching by Clovis Community’s physical therapists to show you practical ways to exercise while at home, out shopping, and even at work. You don’t have to spend hours at the gym to have an exercise routine. They will show you how to make it easy.

  • Getting the right mindset for achieving one’s goals with help from a network of individuals who achieved their weight-loss goals and other life goals.

The Weight-Loss Surgery Support Group meets monthly at Clovis Community in the Outpatient Care Center Conference Room. Meetings are held from 5 - 7 p.m. and there is no charge for attendance.
