We are dedicated to educating and properly preparing families expecting newborns. Offering facility tours and a range of education classes, the Peters Future Generations Center is committed to serving as a reliable resource for expecting parents.

Maternity tours
The tour of the Peters Future Generations Center offers adults (no children, please) a guided preview of the labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery and admitting areas within the hospital.

Participating in a FREE informational tour allows you to see our maternity services before you need them and will acquaint you with our facility. Tours are offered every Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. at Clovis Community Medical Center.

Childbirth education classes
The childbirth classes we offer are beneficial for both first-time parents and those who want a refresher course. Topics covered include Cesarean section, newborn care, breathing and relaxation techniques, labor coaching, comfort measures and more. Class options are available in four-session, private, one-day and weekend courses.

Parent education classes
Our parent education classes are taught by certified childbirth educators on topics ranging from breastfeeding to newborn care to toddler support groups.

Breastfeeding classes
This class helps new mothers get started by teaching how to manage early feedings and get off to a successful start with breastfeeding. Participants learn about positioning, latch-on, normal breastfeeding behaviors of the newborn, milk supply and other important topics.

Breastfeeding classes will be offered during 9 months in 2013 on the third Tuesday of each month on January 15th, February 19th, March 19th, May 21st, June 18th, July 16th, September 17th, October 15th and November 19th.
