Why should I care? Ask Crunch$$$

Few people ask about the big picture. More likely, people want to know what a trillion dollar budget boils down to for them, what is the cost/impact on them?

That's where Crunch$$$ comes in. He's my personal, virtual world financial analyst.  Sure, people what to know what the ### (numbers) mean, but what they really want to know is if they are getting their $$$ worth.

For example, Community Medical Centers' annual budget is roughly $750 million. Crunch$$$ has the job of comparing apples to oranges, so he would say that amount is more than the the combined 2005 annual team payrolls of the baseball Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Dodgers, Angels and White Sox. How's that for perspective, given that Feb. 15 is the day that pitchers and catchers report to spring training?

Count on Crunch$$$ to help me put things into perspective (if you pay $200 for prescription eyeglasses, that is roughly 20% of the opening bid on an autographed Tiger Woods photograph on some sports web sites).  You'll have to forgive Crunch$$$ as he does lean toward sports comparisons, with particular tendencies to the south Bronx.

Hopefully, my virtual consultant will help ease the pain centered around discussions about paying for or receiving health care.  As we all know, it's always Crunch$$$ time.
