Physician group gifts $1 million to Community Regional

In a seven-year pledge in 2000, physicians with University Centers of Excellence and Central California Faculty Medical Group Inc. (CCFMG) donated $1 million to Community Regional Medical Center for ambulatory care and the trauma and burn centers.

In early 2008, they made the final payment.

“We are very proud to be able to contribute to the success of the regional academic medical center and the community by making a monetary contribution as well as providing the best physicians to the Valley”, said Dr. Steven Parks, chief of surgery at Community Regional and clinical professor of surgery at UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program.

CCFMG staffs physicians in cardiovascular, perinatology, vascular, pulmonary, neurology, neurosurgery, rheumatology, infectious disease, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, endocrinology, breast surgery, orthopedic, genetic medicine, psychiatry, laparoscopic, pediatrics and internal medicine. These physicians provide care to the underserved in the Central Valley at the Community Regional clinics. The University Centers of Excellence offices provide a place where the general public has access to our physicians.

CCFMG physicians are recognized as leaders in their fields and are graduates from some of the finest medical schools in the country, including Harvard, Yale, Oxford and Stanford. Not only do they treat patients at University Centers of Excellence offices throughout Fresno, but they are core faculty at UCSF Fresno – teaching the next generation of doctors.
