Community Behavioral Health Center’s Marcia Melby RN-BC, PMH, was honored as American Psychiatric Nurses Association’s (APNA) nurse of the year in Clinical Practice.

Marcia Melby

Melby was recognized for her extraordinary dedication to psychiatric mental health care. Her colleagues say she's shown leadership skills and is deserving of this award, because she's a great example to her team and always willing to look for ways to improve the hospital and patient care.

Melby serves as a mentor to new hires and started a performance improvement team to identify issues. Colleagues also say she's a patient advocate, team player and a joy to be around.

Nominated by her peers, Melby was chosen by a committee of Community Medical Center’s APNA colleagues. She was one of seven nurses across the nation who were chosen.
