With the scheduled move of University Medical Center’s acute services to Community Regional Medical Center about three months away, steps toward the transition are increasingly visible.

In a note to Community employees Jan. 9, CEO Tim Joslin complimented transition teams for staying on schedule for the mid-April move. Specifically, he mentioned progress on several key projects:

The Bariatric (weight-loss) Surgery Program at Clovis Community Medical Center is ranked the best in California according to a report released in November by HealthGrades, an independent health-care ratings organization.

HealthGrades’ findings report the Bariatric Surgery Program at Clovis Community is the only five-star rated provider in the Valley and the only hospital in California to rank in the top 5% in the nation for bariatric surgery.

Thanks to a second $1 million contribution from the Radin Foundation in just more than a year, Clovis Community Medical Center continues expanding breast care services at the new Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center.

Since its inception last May, the Center has performed more than 2,250 mammograms for Valley patients as well as hundreds of other services and procedures.

The funds will be used to increase capacity for patients and further enhance technology and equipment.
