Two dental faculty members, teaching in the residency program on the Community Regional campus were inducted as Fellows of the American College of Dentists, and are now recognized as being in the top tier of dentists nationwide. Michelle Asselin, DDS, FACD, and Rosaura Pacheco, DDS, FACD received the honor after the American College scrutinized their ethics and accomplishments, said Chief of Dental Services Dr. Stanley Surabian.
Both Drs. Asselin and Pacheco are adjunct faculty of the University of the Pacific, and Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, which is academically affiliated with Community Medical Centers’ General Practice Dental Residency Program.
Dr. Asselin, served as Chief Resident in the General Practice Dental Residency Program completing her residency in 2005 before joining the part-time dental residency faculty at Community Regional, and establishing a private dental practice in Fresno. Dr. Asselin received several academic awards from the New York University College of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She has served the Fresno-Madera District Dental Society in several elected offices, including President and Delegate to the California Dental Association’s House of Delegates.
Dr. Pacheco, served as Chief Resident in the General Practice Dental Residency Program completing the residency in 2002 prior to joining the part-time dental residency faculty and establishing a private pediatric dental practice in Fresno in 2004. She graduated from UC Santa Cruz majoring in Psychobiology and completed postgraduate coursework at Columbia University and Harvard University prior to attending UCLA School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Pacheco completed the Pediatric Dental Residency Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. She has served the Fresno-Madera District Dental Society in several elected officer positions including President and Delegate to the California Dental Association’s House of Delegates.
