I was about three minutes into a presentation when I began dropping the “A-bombs.” I believe the explosions started something like this: “CHA would like CMC to do outreach to area CBOs.”

One vice president screwed up his face and spat out what he guessed I meant by CBO. (Hint: It’s community-based organizations.”  My boss, an SVP (oops, another “bomb”), said something along about how far a onetime professional journalist has fallen when he routinely spits out alphabet soup instead of crisp Reader’s Digest words.

I tuly believe our grandson Landon, at three years old, has a special "sixth sense" regarding our precious 21 month old grand-daughter Leah, who is his little sister.
Normally, and quite expectedly, Landon is loud, full of energy (and sometimes spitefulness); non-stop, wanting to wrestle and tussle with Daddy and Opa...and just generally an all-around "boy"...except when it comes to his sister...

All of us function in a highly regulated environment and there are many crucial accreditations and inspections throughout Community. For the clinical labs and pathology services, that means the College of American Pathologists (CAP).    Every two years, CAP inspectors arrive (unannounced) at the Community Regional Medical Center, Clovis Community Medical Center and Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital labs and spend several days.  They are armed with a list of many hundreds of Standards against which to measure our operations.
