Today was a special day for me. To help celebrate National Volunteer Week, Paulla Sebra, Manager of Clovis’s Volunteer Services, invited me to join her and her volunteer staff at an annual luncheon held in their honor. As Donor Relations for Community Medical Foundation, I knew it would be a good opportunity to get to know some of the newer volunteers and have a chance to thank them for their hours of volunteer services.

As an instructor who has the privilege of working with my students at Community Regional in the Volunteer Services department, I get to witness a tremendous number of extraordinary events, experiences and growth relative to these young adults.

Hyperbole is the aorta of politics, but I believe there wasn’t all that much exaggeration the other day when Sen. Max Baucus warned that “a huge train wreck” was in the offing when federal healthcare reform more fully unfolds next January.
