Community Regional Medical Center is a place where lots of compassionate care is given every single day in a million and one ways. Patients and families are not the only ones who receive loving care. Many of our employees are very spiritually minded and go above and beyond the call of duty to serve their co-workers.

Nurses Leading the Way, is this year's theme for National Nurses Week, which is held May 6-12, every year. The purpose of the week long recognition is to raise awareness of the value of nursing and help educate the public about the role nurses play in meeting the health care needs of the American people.

When we were in driver's education class, we were taught to always keep alert, to look ahead at where we were going and to regularly check our side and rear view mirrors. Each field of vision is necessary so that we drive where we need to go, and avoid crashes with other drivers.

It gives me a great deal of pleasure to announce two very important accreditations for Community Regional’s Echo Lab in our Non-Invasive Cardiology Department.

On April 9, we received news that the lab was granted a three-year term of accreditation in the areas of adult stress, adult transesophageal and adult transthoracic echocardiography by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). And, just a few days later, the department was granted a three-year accreditation for pediatric transthoracic echocardiography and fetal echocardiography as well!

It’s National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (April 21-25) and wow, what a week of celebration and recognition we’ve had! We’ve had the opportunity to enjoy a little extra fun and camaraderie from crazy sock day to sport day.
