Education and safety were the topics at Community Regional Medical Center’s MRI Safety Training for our employees and first responders from outside agencies who spent a few hours training on Thursday, July 31.

Gym intimidation is definitely one of my pet peeves.  There are several factors that become reasons folks avoid the gym.  It breaks my heart to hear stories of folks; no matter their age, gender, or fitness level finding it too intimidating to work out in the gym they just signed up for in hopes for a healthier lifestyle.

Community’s employees long committed to our mission of “improving the health of our community” have taken that goal far beyond our hospitals’ walls to work on ways to also improve the health of the environment – which in turn helps us all be healthier. On their own, a group of like-minded, passionate employees formed a Green Team at Community Regional Medical Center, created an organic urban garden out of an unused patio at the hospital, pushed for more recycling in the hospital, and started an annual Earth Day education event to spread their green message.

Let me share the real story of a Community Regional colleague's ordeal. Here's how it was told to me: “Mom and Dad, you need to know there’s something going on.”  That simple statement was our first alert.  Our younger daughter had recently been allowed her first access to social media at the age of 13, and this comment came to us from her older sister just a few weeks later.
