Let's Celebrate Healthcare Risk Management Week

Employee News & Views Editor: June 06, 20140 Comments

This week, June 16-20, we are celebrating Healthcare Risk Management (HRM) Week. This annual campaign from the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) raises awareness about the critical role healthcare risk managers and safety professionals play in patient safety, patient care practices, quality assurance, safe work environments, and liability. This campaign promotes solutions to help prevent some of the most common patient safety events.

This year’s theme, “Sharing in the Caring through Enterprise Risk Management,” also acknowledges the responsibilities that all healthcare workers have in the critical area of risk management.  A comprehensive, organization-wide framework for risk management includes all healthcare employees—from operations, to clinical, to financial and beyond.

Community Medical Centers has a diverse staff dedicated to Risk Management and Patient Safety. Our corporate department is comprised of seasoned staff with backgrounds in Case Management, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery, Psychiatry, Surgery, and Medication Safety to name just a few.  Patient Safety/Risk Managers support the CMC culture of safety by analyzing all reported events, participating in system improvements, and assuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

“We are extremely proud of how our entire staff works every day, along with our Risk Management professionals, to ensure our number one priority of patient safety,” says Tim Joslin. “We recognize the important role each employee plays in promoting safe and trusted healthcare, and in the success of our organization. As we celebrate this special week, we applaud everyone’s safety efforts. Thank you!”
