In celebration of Materials Management Week the MM -- or Materials Management -- leadership acknowledge Materials Management employees (which include Buyers, Contract Coordinators, Mailroom, Stockroom, MMIS, and Casepicking) for their work and dedication.
This week provides an opportunity to recognize the role Materials Management plays in delivering services to all our clinical staff and other support groups. Materials Management is responsible for purchasing and managing supplies and equipment. Our job is to provide all departments the right products when needed. We are involved in purchasing capital equipment, receiving of products, delivery of mail, managing and picking supplies for OR cases and many other important duties. Other duties include managing floor inventory, vendor liaisons, resource conservation, working with our Value Analysis teams and contract negotiations. Our primary goal is to service nursing, respiratory, OR and all other clinical and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Materials Management also works with departments on the cost-effective purchase, management and use of supplies, equipment and resources.
