Hey, it’s time to get your skate on! The holiday ice rink is here. Groove on downtown to the Mariposa Mall and show off your figure eights. Ice skating is for all ages and skill levels and is a healthy, fun, family-friendly activity guaranteed to put a shining smile on your face. Whether you’re sliding or gliding on the ice – you’ll create wonderful holiday memories with your family and friends!
Jean Postlewait, Community Regional’s supervisor of staffing office said “I took my husband, son and three of my grandkids last year. They had a blast – talked about it for days afterward, and have already been asking about this year. None of them had been ice skating before but they took to it like ducks to water. Even my son, who is 40, put the skates on and took off! I told them the ice rink is back this year and Travis, (my son) said “ya-hoo, when are we going?” I think this year extra tickets will show up in their stockings for Christmas.”
Community Regional is excited to be a sponsor of the Downtown Fresno Ice Rink for the second year – especially after hearing stories like Jean’s. Our administration is so pleased to hear about the joy it has brought to staff and people throughout the region who traveled to downtown Fresno to experience it. CEO Jack Chubb said “Community Regional makes a point to give back to its community and supporting the ice rink allows a healthful way for folks to enjoy a wonderful holiday tradition. It also promotes businesses in our neighborhood and brings folks downtown for a fun time.”
It’s nice to see that even adults are interested in moving and gliding on ice –that it’s not just for kids! Our medical staff, employees and volunteers took advantage of discounted ticket prices offered to them and contributed to over 2,000 ice rink tickets sold last year.
Discounted tickets are available again to medical staff, employees and volunteers now through the last day of the outdoor rink (January 20) in Community Regional’s cafeteria and Outtakes Coffee and Gifts. Tickets can also be available for sale at other Community Medical Center facilities upon request. Contact me if you’re interested.
Admission allows for unlimited skating on that day. You can skate, take a lunch or dinner break and then skate some more. Skate rental includes parking validation. For ticket prices and additional information, please see this flier.
The chill is in the air and this activity could become the very one that helps you bring in the holiday season in a whole new and cool way. Happy weekend everyone!
