All of us function in a highly regulated environment and there are many crucial accreditations and inspections throughout Community. For the clinical labs and pathology services, that means the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Every two years, CAP inspectors arrive (unannounced) at the Community Regional Medical Center, Clovis Community Medical Center and Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital labs and spend several days. They are armed with a list of many hundreds of Standards against which to measure our operations.
I am proud to announce that Community Regional's lab has once again received its CAP re-accreditation. The nearly 225 employees of the Community Regional lab and the pathologists deserve much credit for this achievement. Community Regional, Clovis Community and Fresno Heart & Surgical labs are proud to be CAP-accredited. Read the press release here.
