The AABB Accreditation Program promotes the highest standard of care for patients in all aspects of blood banking, transfusion medicine, hematopoietic, cellular and gene therapies, transplantation, and relationship testing. The AABB supports high standards for medical, technical and administrative performance, scientific investigation, clinical application and education. The resulting Accreditation Program specifically assesses quality systems and operational areas for compliance with standards.

The Community Regional Blood Bank issues nearly 20,000 units of blood annually. High quality transfusion services are integral to many of the hospital's services including all types of surgery, intensive medical care, emergency and trauma care, oncology and neonatal intensive care.
