I read an article recently about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and how six million children have been diagnosed with this condition and one million of those six million have also been classified as having Sluggish Cognitive Tempo or SCT (two million children). They report lethargy, day dreaming, and slow mental processing.

Well, at the Holderman Household anyway......one evening last week, two of my colleagues and I were out for a business dinner, and one of the appetizers on the menu looked quite appealing, so I ordered it-two whole cloves of baked garlic, roma tomatoes and a touch of olive oil. A few hours later, I arrived at home, excited to greet my husband after a long day and instead of "honey, how was your day?", the first thing out of his mouth was "WHAT did you have for dinner?"......."Well, what do you think I had, and 'hello to you too!' ".

Oops! My dear husband, even though both of us are looking forward to this trip to see our son in South Carolina that we have not seen in months, was not too pleased when he heard that I booked the trip over Superbowl Weekend....you see, our son is a professional pipe organist, is not too keen about sports or watching them, and so we may have to slip into a local sports bar (do they have those in South Carolina?) to see the game! Oh...that will be just great-you know they allow smoking in bars in other states, and on top of that, we don't even drink....oh well.

Bob Newhart has written a New York Times Bestseller called " 'I Shouldn't Even Be Doing This' and Other Things That Strike Me as Funny". In it he recalls a time when he was a salesperson at a tobacco products store. A customer came in and made a very sizeable order. Bob did not recognize him and asked for his name and pertinent information. Well, it turned out to be a guy named Anthony "Big Tuna" Accardo, the reputed head of the Chicago mob, which was known as "the outfit".

Each time my sons come to visit, sometime before they depart, they ask me this question......they are 30 and 28.....I love it! They're not too old to have 'ole Mom rub their backs. It may seem "gross" to some, but it's special to me and as my one son says, "see Mom, we're spending some quality time together".

Albeit self-proclaimed. There is however, a friend of mine in Modesto (the Mayor of Modesto) where my husband and I lived for over twenty years that every time he sees me, calls me by that name. Those of you who know me are surprised that I ride. By the way, I'm not the passenger, I have my own.....not a Harley, but one that costs a whole lot less but is just as functional-a Yamaha V Star, 650-she's a beaut! Black and red. Studded saddle bags, a large studded "tractor" seat, and loud pipes! (that's for safety you know, so folks can hear you coming).
