Recent news reports have featured an article about very serious mechanical failures of a ski lift at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine. Allegedly the gear box malfunctioned that impacted the electrical motor causing the lift to suddenly stop and start going backwards.

The very word "collaboration" suggests cooperation and working jointly to accomplish something, it also eludes to working as a team. So.....theoretically, it should work, right? I believe this to be true with some provisios. The healthcare "team" (executives, staff, physicians) need to embrace the importance of quality and cost efficiency initiatives, support positive outcomes as a result of encouraging core measures compliance and evidenced-based practice, and listening to one another about suggestions to improve.

Well, if weather forecasters can kind of get it right (especially with all this new doppler radar stuff...), then maybe healthcare forecasters can kind of predict the future.(?) Oh, now I think I've heard it all.......I thought a cordial nod and/or handshake was as familiar as you should become with business associates, but apparently, if you're in the global market, you need to know "etiquette of kissing standards". Those popular marshmellow candies that are made from marshmellows (of course), sugar gelatin, and carnauba wax (what's that!?!) and shaped into chics, bunnies, and ducks, have made their Spring appearance and now we bid them farewell! Apparently they were introduced into the US market in 1952 originating in Russia. Way back then, the candies were made by hand and originally only in the shape of chickens (hence the "Peep"). Now, they are not only popular at Easter time, but many other Holidays as well.....it's peepmania. Oh, and now there are different flavors too!

Blossoms, wildflowers popping up all over the place, the time change, Saint Patrick's Day, Spring Break, the first day of Spring March 21st, Palm Sunday/Easter Sunday, cycling events, motocycle runs, inline competitions, golf tournaments, Doctor's Day, Albert Einstein's Birthday and even Dr. Seuss's! And the list goes on.........

Whoa....I'm planning to go snow skiing at Sierra Summit the last weekend of March....what a crazy contrast!
