...Yep, I think I'm more "bottom-brained"...huh?

I read an article recently that indicated left and right brained is so yesterday...all the rage now is "top-brain" and "bottom-brain". The theory now centers around a more anatomical division between the top and bottom halves of the noggin'.

The top portion is composed of the parietal lobe and top of the frontal lobe which apparently uses more information about our environment and emotional reactions to formulate plans and generate expectations.

The bottom-brain system is more the occipital and temporal lobes and the remainder of the frontal lobe that organizes signals stored in the memory. The bottom brain compares and reclassifies as needed and interprets events.

Top-brainers are pretty straight forward in their approach and bottom-brainers create more detailed plans based on each situation.

There of course are folks who lean more heavily one way or the other, or even an "equal" blend of the two.

Kinda fascinating isn't it? Also can help to explain why there are so many approaches when working on a project and how we all have a different way of understanding, making decisions, and offering "attitude". Have fun figuring out where you are!

My brother recommended I might like this blog. He was totally right. This post actually made my day. You can't imagine simply how much time I had spent for this information! Thanks!
