By now, many of you are familiar with the announcement about Community Medical Centers (CMC) collaboration with Adventist Health (AH) to care for underserved patients, eventually covering a four county region. It is combining the strengths of AH clinic network and CMC's specialized/critical care to improve access to higher-level care for managed MediCal patients in rural and local areas, and brings primary care closer to where patients live in Fresno, Kings, Madera, and Tulare counties.

Our autistic little grand-daughter is not speaking yet at four years old, but she does say a couple of things that we can understand..most notably, "IPad, IPad, IPad".

My husband and I hosted the Family Thanksgiving event this last Thursday at our place. I took great care to shop early, clear the "to do" list, and made plans on serving the meal promptly at noon (for those traveling from out of town, so we could eat early and then enjoy visiting before all had to be back on the road). I am usually right on target with the committed time...but not so this day.

...and so is the potential to consume an average of 4,500 calories during a typical Thanksgiving Feast-yikes!

Monday September 14, 2015-I am very grateful for the rain today. What a blessing!

For many living in the Valley this season, the impact of local fires coupled with hot days has certainly taken a toll in many areas, including making it difficult to breathe. The air has been rather awful. So many living in the fire prone and ravaged areas are especially being challenged with evacuations, fire personnel are fighting valiantly, and it is certainly a tremendous struggle.

...I bought my husband a t-shirt with this comment. There's actually a bizarre story behind that purchase.

Two summers ago, my husband and I made a trip back to the family lake house in Indiana where we normally experience a peaceful, relaxing, and overall pretty unremarkable time. Not so with this particular trip.
