Gifts Make a Difference Blog Editor: March 15, 20126 Comments

I regret to announce to the Community Medical Centers family that we have lost one of our iconic supporters: Pete Peters passed away peacefully at his Fresno countryside home Tuesday afternoon. Pete would have reached his 95th birthday in May.

Community had no greater fan than Mr. Pete Peters, affectionately called “Uncle Pete.” He loved all who served Community’s mission, and each of Community’s facilities was dear to him. Look on many of Community’s buildings and programs and you will see the Peters name.

Giving was a way of life for Mr. Peters as you can see in this video.

Pete ensured the hospital would continue to have a legacy of support from the Peters family, succeeding his late brother Leon through leadership of the Leon S. Peters Foundation as well as establishing the Pete P. Peters Foundation through his own personal contributions. As his brother before him, Pete’s life embodied the values of community citizenship.

We will dearly miss Mr. Peters.

Mr. Peters

I had the honour of meeting this great, yet very humble gentleman at Heart Hospital couple of months ago. I still can recall the warmth and joy of meeting him. He was so kind and profusely thankful for little things that we did to him. I could feel that he was a positively different human being. My heart felt condolences for the family and friends. May God bless the world with more such legendary souls.

Very Blessed

So very blessed by Mr Peters and his family. I was able to finish my RN education. I received one of his foundations scholarships.

May God watch over you and may you receive back all that you have given.

Thank you

Mr Pete Peters

Mr. Peters brought so many gifts to our life. He always put other people needs before his. We will never forget him! God bless him. My warmest condolences to his love ones.

....

Got to meet him in person. He was a pleasant man who had a very kind soul. He respected all those in the healthcare field at Community. May he rest in peace.

The Peters Family

Leon ,Pete and their Families certainly gave so much more to our community than they ever took. Originally, successfully owned and operated a Business that supplied products that met the needs of our agricultural valley. Thankfully, that business met with good fortune for them. Leon and Pete donated so much of their good fortune that brought good fortune to our area.
Certainly,in the medical and business education sectors, Fresno has been blessed by the generous benevolence of the Peters family

Miss you "Uncle Pete"

My heart is saddened to hear of "Uncle Pete's" passing.
I will miss his hugs of support, genuine smile and caring spirit.
You felt like family around this wonderful man.
Yes, I will miss "Uncle Pete," but I feel truly blessed to have shared some time here on earth with him.
My prayers go to his family at this sad time.
