Donor doubles donation for burn survivors at Community

Gifts Make a Difference Blog Editor: August 12, 20140 Comments

I am always so impressed by the generosity of our community and its donor-investors. We received a $75,000 donation that will double its dollar value to help burn survivors at Community Regional Medical Center’s Leon S. Peters Burn Center thanks to longtime donor JP Lamborn and Hanford couple Dave and Anne Bush.

The $75,000 Lamborn gift was matched by the Bush gift for a total of $150,000. The Bushes, who own Bush Construction in Hanford, have committed $500,000 to match any gift for pediatric and young adult burn care at Community Regional.

There have been a number of donors who have stepped up to this challenge and you can be a part of it, too! So if you give $100 that will double in value and your money will go twice as far. Click here to give, or call us at (559) 459-2670.

These funds will be used for renovations to create child-friendly themed rooms, fund pediatric specialist positions and purchase the latest equipment and technology to help children cope while in the hospital for their various procedures.

Did you know that more than 45% of all burn patients who come to the Peters Burn Center are under the age of 25? And almost always need treatment for months and years to come. Community Regional has the only Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive burn center between Sacramento and Los Angeles – taking all burn cases in the Valley including children.

What a difference we can all make in these young burn survivors lives.
