My neighborhood gas station is fattening up even as my favorite Mexican restaurant is thinning out the chicken in my quesadilla.

I can now buy beer, beef jerky and a toy that too closely resembles an AK-47 at my cluttered Valero station, where the owner is desperately trying to sell something that makes him money 'cause the dollars spent on gas don't.

This is the madcap time when California legislators jockey to get their bills out of the "suspense" file and moving through the Senate and Assembly. Anything that costs revenue, well, LOL.

"Suspense" is supposed to have an Indiana Jones feel, not paper-pushing politicking.  But the LOL used to mean "lots of luck," but has morphed in the text-messaging world to "Laugh Out Loud."  Every occupation comes with its own slang.

I had the honor of joining several Clovis Community Medical Center (CCMC) Maternal Child team members, family members, and "mascot-dog" on Saturday, May 3rd at Woodward Park to support Angel Babies of Hinds Hospice in the 3rd annual walk/run event.

...the more you eat the more you...lose?!? Well, that's a twist to the saying, but apparently a gentleman claims that his diet of baked beans helped him lose 140 pounds in nine months. In fact, since June 2007, he's eaten more than half a ton of them which he figures is about 1,500 cans.
