We lost our good friend and colleague, Dr. Kenny O’Brien this last weekend. He was one of a kind and will be lovingly missed as he was such an integral part of all of us at Community Medical Centers for so many years. His smiles, jokes and tootsie rolls were among his many gifts to us! He certainly touched so many people over the years as a physician, donor and a unique volunteer at Community Regional. He was one of our Pioneering Physicians – along with Drs. Woo, Lowe, Masten, Mau, Jing, Schiff, Sam, Wiens, and James. The greatest generation, right?

Working over four decades as a nurse, I’ve been privileged to work in different roles.  As direct care nurse in Med Surg, Oncology and ICU, I was able to provide comfort and care to patients and their families at one of the most stressful time in their lives. As Community’s Chief Nurse, I love hosting the nursing scholarship awards ceremony each year and reading the essays from Community Medical Centers’ current and future nurses.

I was so grateful to unveil a new monument recently on the Clovis Community Medical Center campus that honors two men who have made a measurable difference to Clovis Community with their giving spirit and support over the years - Leon S. Peters and Pete P. Peters.

As their family and friends joined us on a beautiful evening we were able to refelct on some of the major moments at Clovis Community and how the Peters have been part of it.
