I was so grateful to unveil a new monument recently on the Clovis Community Medical Center campus that honors two men who have made a measurable difference to Clovis Community with their giving spirit and support over the years - Leon S. Peters and Pete P. Peters.

As their family and friends joined us on a beautiful evening we were able to refelct on some of the major moments at Clovis Community and how the Peters have been part of it.

Another new construction project made a major step at Clovis Community today - the new Medical Office Building walls were raised by a large crane that lifted one of the heaviest walls weighing 75,000 pounds. The construction crew finished the day with almost two sides of walls completed which was an amazing site to watch. It takes a very coordinated and safe effort with a team of construction workers who really know what they are doing to make something like this happen!

It always makes me proud when the hard work of our employees and physicians is recognized by agencies that know healthcare well. Clovis Community Medical Center has just received the highest possible rating for patient safety from an organization that grades hospitals all over the country. We earned the only "A" grade in the region!

Nursing is a healthcare profession that focuses on the care of the patient, families and communities. It is a profession steeped in rich values. For many nurses, it is more than a profession; it is a much higher calling. A great nurse is compassionate, empathetic, selfless, and technically strong with a thirst for knowledge. At Clovis Community, we are fortunate to have many wonderful, caring nurses. They are the front-line for patient care and are strong advocates for continuous improvement.
