I am pleased to announce that on October 25th Clovis Community passed our OSHPD (Office of Statewide Planning and Development) inspection for our expansion project. To fully understand the significance of this milestone, you should know that less than 50% of all hospitals pass this kind of inspection on the first try. Kudos to the Clovis Team!
Unfortunately, we have not had our CDPH (California Department of Public Health) inspection yet which is the final hurdle needed to open. The delay has been due to scheduling issues by CDPH. Therefore, we did NOT open all of the new expansion areas this week as we had originally planned. Rest assured, we are using this cushion of time to perfect every aspect of our new Medical Center and give our staff more time to become familiar with the new technology and work space in anticipation of our opening — which we hope will be soon.

On a more exciting note, we did receive approval to open two new areas: our new main entrance and café.
The new main entrance opened today and The Grove Café which is now larger, redesigned and rivals fine restaurants, is scheduled to open Tuesday, November 13th — check out the photo below. I assure you this is a destination worth visiting. And, we are honored to be able to partner with local companies to offer food products in the café such as ice cream from Hanford's Superior Dairy and coffee beans from a local roasting company.
I have many reasons to be grateful as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday season. Clovis Community has been blessed with wonderful staff and physicians who have worked tirelessly to ensure that we provide exceptional care and a place like nowhere else for our patients.
