How Do You Pick Just One?

Nursing is a healthcare profession that focuses on the care of the patient, families and communities. It is a profession steeped in rich values. For many nurses, it is more than a profession; it is a much higher calling. A great nurse is compassionate, empathetic, selfless, and technically strong with a thirst for knowledge. At Clovis Community, we are fortunate to have many wonderful, caring nurses. They are the front-line for patient care and are strong advocates for continuous improvement.

I am so pleased to honor four Clovis Community nurses who have been nominated by the Nursing Leadership Coalition of the Central Valley for the "Nurse of the Year" Award. To be nominated by this worthy organization is a compliment to the care you provide.

The Clovis Community nominees and the categories are:

  • Amanda Villamizar - education category
  • Cynthia Vasquez - clinical practice category
  • Jeff Zweifel - leadership category
  • Krystal Pombo - advance practice category

To each of the 422 Clovis Community nurses who work hard every day, let me take a moment to express my gratitude. You are every day heroes!

We all know it takes a team to make the hospital successful. To ALL of our employees and volunteers, thank you for all you do every day. I encourage you to join us for the upcoming hospital week festivities beginning on Monday, May 7th through May 11th. This is our chance to acknowledge the good work, excellent customer service and extraordinary efforts you provide that contribute to the success of Clovis Community!
