Internal Medicine

The UCSF Fresno Internal Medicine Residency program offers both a preliminary year of training in internal medicine and a complete three-year program in internal medicine leading to board certification. The program is designed to provide residents with progressive patient responsibility and produce well-rounded clinicians prepared for either the practice of general internal medicine or further training in subspecialties.

In addition to hands-on patient care experience, residents in the UCSF Fresno Internal Medicine Residency program work with specialty and subspecialty academic faculty in scholarly projects through the UCSF Fresno Center for Clinical Studies. The program has funded research projects in many areas including HIV management, cellular respiration, hepatitis, nutrition, educational informatics, preventive cardiology, asthma epidemiology, clinical cardiology, sepsis, stroke management, and adult respiratory distress syndrome.
